Taking Care of Dry Skin

A person incapable of producing adequate levels of sebum will most likely suffer from dry skin. The visible signs of this condition are cracking and chapping plus a feeling of skin tautness unless a moisturizing cream is applied. As a result of this condition the skin always seems parched and dry; it can’t be supple since it’s unable to retain moisture. There are a myriad of reasons why the skin becomes dry. Some of the most common include inadequate lubrication by oil glands, genetic conditions, environmental factors, a poor diet, and skin conditions including seborrhea, psoriasis, and eczema. Dry skin may also results from diabetes conditions, an unhealthy thyroid, and the use of certain medications.
To take care of dry skin mineral water will be the best option for cleansing. Hot water and tap water are to be completely avoided. Any rough-textured cloth should also be avoided. In the morning it’s best to use a sprayer that will mist the face and then pat the face gently to dryness. When cleansing use products that don’t contain detergent and whose pH is neutral. Soap bars are not to be used. After cleansing apply a moisturizing cream to reinvigorate the skin and restore moisture and oil. Apply a light layer so as not to develop clogged pores. The moisturizer will facilitate suppleness.
Apart from these skin care techniques you should also embrace healthy eating which means lots of foods that will give you proteins, sulfur, antioxidants, and beta-carotenes, and vitamins. For these benefits you will have to increase your consumption of raw foods particularly the fruits and vegetables. As you increase this uptake decrease your intake of junk food to a bare minimum. Remember to drink lots of water on a daily basis; two quarts daily will do.
