Acne

ACNE BACKGROUND

Acne is considered to be an oil gland disorder, but there are quite a few things that can contribute. For instance, stress is a contributing factor. When you are stressed out, your skin does not take it well. You also have to watch what you eat. When you eat oily and fatty foods, they can go right to your skin and cause increased oil production.

Eventually, the pores of the skin become clogged with sebum, dirt, and bacteria and this is what results in pimples and acne cysts. They are filled with sebum and it is laden with bacteria. Eventually, it is as if the skin becomes infected and it can become inflamed.

Although it has been determined that stress, dirt, bacteria, and lifestyle can be causes for acne, it is also said that hormones may be the cause. The truth, however, is that doctors are not 100% certain on all of the exact causes of acne. What they do know is that it can cause severe scarring, which means having the evidence of acne for the rest of a person’s life. Acne runs so deep into the skin that it causes “pits” and these pits will remain unless a person turns to surgery to have the issue rectified.

Whatever the exact cause of acne, there is no mistaking what it is. A person has acne when they have severe breakouts on their skin. The occasional breakout doesn’t count. But when parts or all of your face or another area on your body is overwhelmed with pus-filled pimples or cysts, then you know exactly what is going on and that something needs to be done fast.
